Large orders split across multiple exchanges to fill quickly. Indicates urgency - someone wants in NOW. Most bullish/bearish signal.
Single large orders executed on one exchange. Often institutional. Less urgent than sweeps but still significant size.
Sweeps with expiration within 2 weeks. Maximum leverage, maximum conviction. Very aggressive positioning.
Large trades on options expiring 6+ months out. Long-term institutional positioning. Less about timing, more about direction.
Options give leverage. A $1M bet on options can represent a $10M+ stock position. When smart money makes large options bets, they're putting significant capital behind their conviction.
Call Sweeps: Institutions betting stock goes UP
Put Sweeps: Institutions betting stock goes DOWN (or hedging)
Dark Pool + Options: When dark pool buying aligns with call flow, conviction is extremely high
